What happens to my box if I pass away?

If you pass away, your nominated next of kin can access your safe deposit box upon presenting the required legal documents. They may choose to remove the contents or transfer them to a new box in their name.

What if my next of kin lives overseas?

If your next of kin resides outside the UK, they can still gain access to your safe deposit box once they present the required legal documents and authorization. LGV can to verify the documents before granting access and receiving the items.

Will LGV contact my next of kin automatically if I pass away?

Yes. If a depositor passes away unexpectedly, LGV will reach out to the next of kin listed on file and redirect quarterly statements to their updated address. This ensures they are aware of the safe deposit box and its contents, even in cases where the depositor may not have informed them of these holdings.

What happens if I lose my key or access code?

If you lose your key or access code, notify us immediately. We will carry out identity verification before arranging access. Please note, a lock replacement fee may apply.

Can I grant access to a family member or solicitor?

Yes, you can authorize access for a family member or solicitor by submitting a formal request with their identification details. Branch approval is required, and additional charges may apply.

How do I cancel or renew my rental?
