Can I nominate a next of kin or authorized person in advance?

Yes. We strongly recommend that clients provide LGV with the details of an authorized individual who can access the box in the event of death or incapacity. This designation must be made in writing and supported by the required identification and legal documentation.

Can the next of kin cancel my storage contract and retrieve all items in storage?

Yes, the next of kin registered with LGV can cancel the storage contract and access or retrieve all items in storage, following verification of their identity and submission of required documents.

Will LGV contact my next of kin automatically if I pass away?

Yes. If a depositor passes away unexpectedly, LGV will reach out to the next of kin listed on file and redirect quarterly statements to their updated address.

If your next of kin resides outside the UK, they can still gain access to your safe deposit box once they present the required legal documents and authorization. LGV can to verify the documents before granting access and receiving the items.
